Two guys called Philip - one from Earth, Wind & Fire, and one from Genesis - curdled one of the finest examples of premium-grade Eighties pop cheese. It's about a lover of the simple variety, but acceptable luck parsing abundant else. Riding about a sped-up adaptation of the abundant guitar/synth coaction that starts Harvey Mason's '81 animated slab of alarm "How Does It Feel," "Easy Lover" is appealing abundant all harmonies, all Bailey in the blast and all fun. Co-written by Mason's approaching Fourplay bandmate Nathan East, and originally on Bailey's anthology Chinese Wall
, the clue was accompanied by a cool video starring the duo abyssal helicopters, bathrobe apartment and eventually a soundstage to blur a music video within a music video. R.F.
